Portfolio Questions

1. What research do you think necessary for a project such as this?

There was a lot layout and overall aesthetic design research.

2. How did you go about researching for the project?

For the first part I looked at what other people have made with their books and how they were laid out. I then looked at different styles and I actually got inspired by the game Orwell's design.

3. As evidence for the External Modifier, how do you think it best to present the research in order to show them what you found out about Page Layout and Design?

I think screen shots, voice recordings and video recordings are quite solid in terms of presenting research.

4. How has the research fed into your design?

Well I used the design of how one of the books was quite colour coded, so I did it in a more rainbow like appearance in my book, I also used the aesthetic design of OrWell.

5. Do you think your design is right for the audience you are hoping to view your work? If yes, say why it is. If not, say why isn't it and what you might do to rectify it.

Yes. Because in my opinion its very abstract and creative, and this book is all about designing something original and what too look out for when making it.

6. Did you have a plan of what you were going to do for the project?

Yes, the book was planned out with the layout the topics in mind as well as how many pages there were going to be.

7. Were you able to stick to your plan or did you have to change it as you worked through the project?

I sticked to my plan constantly but I did change one thing, one of the topics was longer than anticipated whilst the one that was expected to be longer was short, but overall we still achieve the same amount of pages and information.

8. How well did you edit and process the text in the product?

I have double checked the text and have made sure everything was proof read before hand so that everything made sense and there wasn't a typo or mistake of some sort.

9. Which typeface choices did you make to include in the project?

OCR A STD was the typeface that I chose for this book since the overall style was very abstract and the style of the text was a perfect fit.

10. Was the layout you devised based on any particular compositional device/s (e.g. the golden section).

No not really the layout was my idea from the start.
